He looked up quickly, lowering the paper to get a better look at the girl. He didn't have a good enough grasp on humans to determine her age or social standing, but she looked fairly similar to the general crowd here. His gaze darted around the diner to see if there were other seats available to her, and there were plenty of tables open, even if the place was reasonably busy. But it was a large enough booth, and there really wasn't much of a reason to say no.
"I suppose not." He reached over and moved his drink from the center of the table, resorting his paper to return to his reading.
